vf Clubs

With its 55,000 square meters of space, Kortrijk Xpo is the home to more than a few iconic and world renowned trade fairs. Velofollies is one of those fairs, specifically targeted at biking enthusiasts of all kinds. They approached us with the challenge of crafting a new app concept that would bring added value to the booming scene of cycling clubs. Me and my partner in crime Amély Mondy conducted user research, emerged ourselves in trends and future forecasting, and facilitated focus groups. Valuable insights and inspiration tapped right from the source, brought us to a new value proposition.

We crafted the vf Clubs app to become the ultimate new community platform for race clubs and individual riders to find each other, match, connect, and hit the road together. The visual brand I created nods playfully to the vintage street-style aesthetic when road racing was high and rising in the seventies, and still a tad rock-’n-roll. The squares, stripes and bold colours call for the sportive, socially-fuelled riders — high-performing, and otherwise — to unite and gloat in the mere joy of the sport together.
